Sign-in | Register form

The sign-in/register form section provides a set of options, which allows you to edit the native theme register form.

Let's have a closer look at them.  

Register Form Fields

Here you can choose which fields will be shown in the main theme register form.

These settings apply for a sign-in form module, which you can add either via Elementor or WP Bakery while building pages. If you installed the demo data, you can find this block on the homepage.

Let's review each of the form types further.  

Basic registration form

The basic registration form looks like this: The form is non-editable and consists of basic WordPress fields:

Standard registration form

The standard registration form looks like this:

This form is editable except for basic WordPress fields. The fields Username, Email, Password, Confirm password are non-editable! 

The rest of the form fields you can edit under Users > Profile fields. Then this info will be shown in a user profile.

The field 'Name' cannot be removed from the profile fields due to BuddyPress settings but can be renamed.

 

Extended registration form

The extended registration form looks like this:

At first glance, the form looks like the standard form, but there is one main difference. 

This form is also editable except for basic WordPress fields. Only Username and Email fields are non-editable in this form.

The rest of this form fields you can edit under Users > Profile fields and only the required fields will be displayed, as well as in a standard form. Then this info will be shown in a user profile.

The field 'Name' cannot be removed from the profile fields due to BuddyPress settings but can be renamed.

The main difference is that after submitting a form, a user will be automatically redirected to the Register page, which looks like:

The info, which a user has already filled in previously, will be automatically added to the necessary fields. 

Here a user needs to fill in the required fields Password and Confirm password. These fields can't be edited.

Then, a user can complete his registration and fill in the rest profile fields from Users > Profile fields, not only required. 

The appearance of the register page an admin can adjust via Youzify panel > Membership settings > Register Settings/Register Styling Settings. Check out our tutorials on Youzify settings Register Settings and Register Styling Settings

Activation Email

This option allows admins to enable or disable the activation email for registration. Please, note that this option works only for native theme forms!

If you use other plugins for registration, like Youzify or any other, you should find the same option there or use additional plugins. 

Captcha Settings

Here you can set up ReCaptcha for your site security. ReCaptcha protects you against spam and other types of automated abuse. For details, see reCAPTCHA (v3) 

Email Options

Here you can change the mail sender name and email for automatic emails from your site. 

The emails come from standard BuddyPress emails, including a registered email.

The emails can be edited via Emails > All emails:

Sign-in popup

The Sign-in button locates in the upper right corner and looks like this:

You can enable or disable a sign-in popup button and change its icon under Customize > Sign-in | Register form > Sign-in popup section.

Then, you can choose which form to display when clicking on the sign-in button:

Olympus login form

If you choose the Olympus login form, there will be available additional options.

With additional options you can set up:

If you want to add your custom link in the login form, you need to use the following shortcode:

[register-link text="your custom text" url="your custom URL"]

Pay attention that your custom text and your custom URL should be replaced with your custom values. For example:

This link can only redirect your users to the registration page
The link won't switch to the register tab of the popup form!

Youzify plugin form

If you choose the Youzify plugin form, the Youzify login form will be displayed when clicking on the sign-in button.

Please, pay attention that you need to enable the login popup under the Youzify panel > Membership Settings > Login Settings to make the sign-in button works.

The appearance of the Youzify login form can be edited via Youzify Panel > Membership Settings > Login Settings and Login Styling Settings.

Custom shortcode

If you choose the custom shortcode, there will be available an additional field. Here you can add your own custom HTML or shortcodes, which will appear in a popup box.
