If you need to change a length of blog post content that shows up under each post title in a blog page and make it shorter visible on the blog page, you just need to use an excerpt to a post. A post excerpt is a description or posts summary that we show to readers to get their interest into reading.
1. Simply fill in excerpt field with the post description
An excerpt can be as short or as long as you wish.
If you do not have such field in your post page, or this option is disabled for some reasons, please go to the top, click on «screen options» and check «Excerpt»
By enabling it there is a new field ‘excerpt’ can be seen below the content editor.
2. You can also set your excerpt length by adding "read more" tag using post editor tag option. Simply place the blinking text cursor where you want the excerpt to be stopped and click this tag.
