Hello,

So far I am very frustrated with the instructions for installing this theme (Second Touch) although I am slowly muddling through it.  I started with a completely fresh WordPress site, nothing loaded, with a new host and attempted to follow your instructions EXACTLY as written.  After this, I keep getting re-directed to my hosting provider's default 404 page.  After a few minutes, the site re-appears as if by magic.  It has done this at least ten times in the past 30 minutes.

Additionally, there is message that the LayerSlider is not set up.  So there is just a blank at the top of the page.  There is no mention of how to correct this problem in the installation instructions.

Also, in these forums, I keep seeing you ask users for their admin name and password so you can log into their sites when they are having trouble.  ISN'T THIS A HUGE SECURITY RISK?  Would you or your company ever considering giving out your admin passwords???  This seems crazy to me.  Do you have a list of your customers' sites with their admin names and passwords?  Do you tell people to change them after you're finished doing whatever you need to do to correct their theme installation?  I have NEVER seen a support rep ask for admin passwords, and I find it kind of amazing that anyone would do this.  Do your customers actually provide this to you without questioning why this should even be necessary?

Please update your documentation.

Thank you,

Mike

Hi Mike!

Recently we changed theme installation process, but made a big mistake, because we didn't change theme installation tutorial. That must be the major problem on your installation at the moment

I am very sorry about that!!!

The tutorial is changed. Please, reinstall the theme following the steps described in this topic http://support.crumi...llation/?p=5527

With regard to your second question - we often ask customers for website access data, because very often the issues they encounter are caused by server settings or mistakes of the customers.

We have more that 7000 cusotmers and it is absolutely safe to share these data, because:

1. they don't go out of our office walls

2. we use them only to fix customers issues

3. they can be changed any time after the issue is fixed and if you encounter another one in future, you can create temporary access and then change it again.

Thanks!

Regards

Hello,

I will reinstall the theme according to these instructions.  Hopefully it will work better this time - so far I have had nothing but problems.  This is a fresh WordPress install on a new server from TrafficPlanet Hosting.  No other 3rd party themes or plugins have been installed other than what comes with Second Touch.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for your help,

Mike

As suggested in the installation instructions, I deleted everything I could find and reinstalled the theme according to your instructions.  I installed and activated the plugins.  Unfortunately it's now an even greater mess than before.  From your instructions...

"Before importing demo data, make sure you have clean Wordpress installation. It means there shouldn\'t be any other themes, content, categories, sliders or other types of content there. Make sure that all plugins, provided with the theme, are installed. You can check that in “Appearance>Install plugins” section."

If I am mistaken, please tell me, but shouldn't my site look just like the demo site after I import the sample data provided?

1. The menu at the top now has six separate "Home Pages" buttons plus single buttons for Layouts, Blog Pages, Portfolio, Features, and Contacts.

2. The image buttons now contain no images (for example, the Our Team buttons have just camera icons, as do the "Client" buttons").

3. Slider not found appears at the top along with a large white background of nothing.

4. The footer is entirely screwed up.

I would like to send you a screenshot but I see no way of attaching/inserting an image in this message.  Is there a way to do so?

There are no other themes or plugins aside from the default WordPress items in the dashboard.

I can't understand how this can be so difficult, especially since I followed your instructions, to the letter, three times.  I am getting more and more frustrated by this process.

Please help.

Thank you.

Could you please test your new installation instructions STEP-BY-STEP yourselves on a clean installation of WordPress?  It does not seem to work.

I have just done this for the FOURTH TIME, and my site is entirely screwed up.  I made sure EVERYTHING was deleted before starting the install.  I now have no graphics on many buttons, the text disappears on others when I hover over them, the footer is completely ruined, the menu options are not correctly displayed, the formatting is wrong/awful, etc., etc.  I have refreshed the browser cache and that does absolutely nothing to help.

I have wasted so much time trying to get this theme installed.  This was advertised as a simple, straightforward installation and it most definitely is NOT.

Where is the sample data coming from?  It does not prompt me for the file location.

Looking under "Media Library" there is exactly ONE image - the camera icon.  Is this why the site is so completely screwed up?

I just looked at the new installation download from earlier today.  I cannot find any images in the zip file.  Where are they?  In one of my other messages you said that one image had been removed.  Did someone mistakenly remove all of the images???

Thanks,

Mike

I just noticed your instructions for Second Touch are from September 2013  for the "One Touch" theme not "Second Touch".  Are there any differences in the install process?  Also today is July 22, 2014, not September 2013.  Does that mean your "new" installation instructions are also incorrect?

Why is this so difficult??????

Can't you take 30 minutes and create some proper installation instructions?????!!!

Thank you for this.

I haven't tried the installation yet, but I'm curious why, in the video above, all the button images are missing after the installation.  Once complete, the site generated in the video does not match the example site on ThemeForest, I assume because the sample images are no longer included in the installation.  You can see that the images are missing in this video after the installation completes (at approximately the 2:02 and 2:12-2:14 points in the video).  In your demo on ThemeForest here, http://theme.crumina...eme=secondtouch, there are images for "design trends", "ferrari", "our team", etc. but in your video there are just camera icons for all of the buttons.  The first time I installed your theme, even though it didn't work correctly, the images were included (I sent you a message in the support forums about one of them).  Now the images are missing (in fact I sent you a another message with a long list of missing images that was generated during the installation process).

Please tell me, are the sample images supposed to be included as part of the install or not?

Thanks again,

Mike

Hi Mike!

The images are intentionally removed from installation version to make it easier and faster. The structure of the theme, that you get, is the same as on demo version, but without images.

There is another installation with help Duplicator plugin, that doesn’t come in official version of the theme, but does include all images.

If you need all demo images, we can send you files for duplicator and sample video tutorial. Please, send your request for files for duplicator over info@crumina.net

Thanks!

Yes, please send the installation instructions, sample video tutorial, and help for the Duplicator plugin so I can give a better demo of the theme.

I appreciate your attention to this matter.

Thank you,

Mike

Well, I just ran the installation EXACTLY as described in the video you sent with the latest SecondTouch.zip

Unlike your video, when I click "Visit Site" I get six blank orange blocks at the top, a huge empy white area in the middle of the screen, and a message that states "[LayerSliderWP] Slider not found".

The Footer is missing graphics.  The site looks nothing like it is supposed to.

In your video at the 2 minute mark, when you click "Visit Site", there is a graphic that fills the top portion of the screen (I see nothing but a large white area).  The menu buttons at the top are multi-colored, and have images in them, and the site appears as it should.  When I run the installer I have just a screwed up site.  I will recommend AGAIN, try running your installation instructions on a clean site, with NOTHING pre-installed (non of your images, etc), and follow your installation instructions.  If we are both installing from the same zip file, using the latest WP version, and installing to a "clean" fresh site, we should absolutely get the same results.  Unfortunately, the installation is STILL not working properly and I have now wasted more time with what I expected to be (and should have been) a very simple task.

By the way, how do I add an attachment or a screenshot to one of these replies?  I tried clicking "My Media" and it tells me "

Your Media Library Media you have uploaded to the community is available here for sharing.
Content you share will be visible by all members who can view this topic.

Select a media type to choose what to share.

And there is nothing else to click except "Finished".

So how do I upload media to the community if that is what I need to do?  How do I simply insert a screenshot in this message so you can see what I'm trying to convey to you about the failed installation?

Hi!

In the video we made the theme is installed on clean Wordpress installation without any pre-installed content. This process was tested a lot of times and successfully.

If you do everything right you should get the same result. Did you clean your database before reinstalling the theme? If you just deleted the content, it is not enough.

Do you really want to continue this chat? Is it really something top secret on your clean Wordpress installation that it is worth the lost time?

We could install the theme for you and point on mistakes if tehre were made some.

With regard to images adding, there is a button "More reply options" at the right bottom of the content field http://prntscr.com/4bo6jg, click it and upload imaged from your computer in section "Attach files" http://prntscr.com/4bo6ot

Thanks!

Regards
